In recent years, water for human consumption has become a scarce resource, due to population growth and climate change that has accentuated water stress. The efficient management of water in urban environments indicates a good management of resources in cities. The project uses ICT tools and develops a tool that allows field data management of drinking water supply networks to detect leaks and improve network performance, using hydraulic models in a GIS environment.
Program of Innovative Business Groups 2018
Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
Project partners:
Catalan Water Cluster (CWP)
Water Supplies SA (PRODAISA)
BGEO
Eurecat Technology Center
ABM
Project budget: €60,000.00
Implementation period: 2018-2019
The tool compares the field data (databases) with the hydraulic model of the network through established consumption behaviour patterns, detects anomalies and indicates possible performance losses.
It evaluates the application of the device in a real environment using a sector of the Vilablareix drinking water supply network.
