The Plan for the Utilization of Barcelona’s Groundwater promotes the sustainable use of groundwater for non-consumptive purposes. The network used to exploit this resource includes over 95 km of pipelines and approximately 840 access points.
ABM carried out the inventory and digitized a total of 625 elements and 263 access points using a mobile app (based on ODK), allowing for real-time data updates directly into a cloud-based PostgreSQL database, optimizing both data quality and availability.
Development of a mobile application for on-site data collection.
Transmission to a cloud-based PostgreSQL database.
Fieldwork to identify more than 625 elements (pressure control valves, isolation valves, non-return purge valves, meters, flow meters, gauges, filters, reels, and pumps) across 263 access points of the groundwater network in public areas.
Generation of GIS layers for all elements.
